Sweet Red Bean Soup Recipe
This Sweet Red Bean Soup is an Asian / Chinese soup recipe that can be served as a hot soup during the frigid winter months or as a cold dessert soup under the blaze of the summers hot afternoon sun.
It's one of the great things about this Asian soup. It has a very versatile way of making one feel happy and comfortable. Yet hot or cold this soup creates a wonderful breakfast with a cup of herbal tea, a delicious lunch and a decadent yet smooth snack for dinner. High in fiber and low in dis-satisfaction.

Cooking your Sweet Red Bean Soup
1. The first thing you want to do is soak your beans, there are quite a few ways to do this but I use the traditional method by soaking them overnight in two times as much water as there are beans. This is the easiest and I think it has the best results.2. Now add 4 1/4 cups water to a large pot and heat to boiling, as it starts to boil reduce the heat down to a simmer. 3. Add the red rice and red azuki beans to the pot and simmer on the lowest heat possible for about an hour. 4. Now add the dried dates and the pecans, stir well and simmer for 20 minutes on low heat. 5. Add the brown sugar, black sesame seeds and the milk to the pot, stir well and simmer for 10 minutes. Here is another sweet Chinese red bean soup that is similar to this and also uses azuki beans. If your looking for more of an American red "kidney" bean soup you can find it at the link above.
