Refried Bean and Ham Chili

The prep time for this delicious feast is about an hour.
Ingredients: 2 T. oil
1 onion, diced
1 red or yellow pepper, diced
2 cups water
2 cups of milk or half and half
2 T. chicken or vegetable bouillon
1 T. Mrs. Dash's seasoning
1 T. minced garlic
3 cans traditional refried beans
1 1/2 cups cubed ham
Optional Ingredients: 1/2 c. salsa
You can also substitute 1 1/2 cup diced chicken for the ham.
Preparation: Saute onion, pepper and garlic in the oil. When translucent, add all the rest of the ingredients to your favorite soup pot and simmer for at least 45 minutes.
This is a very spicy white chili that comforts the eater with it's creamy goodness. I recommend serving with corn bread and 1/2 t. sour cream on each bowl.
